History

  • Bartolomeo Boero began his career in the world of paints in Genoa with a small factory for the production of white lead powder. White lead was the only inorganic pigment that was widely known and widely used until the 19th century; the high degree of stability of this product is confirmed by ancient drawings and pictures of the last centuries. The young company began to grow rapidly, because the production was located near the seaport. This was facilitated by the efficient operation of the logistics service and the availability of prices, which allowed customers to buy such an innovative product for that time.

  • Production of zinc whites and red lead began.

  • Filippo Boero passed the management of the company to his children - Gigi and Federico Mario, a new company was formed under the name Boero Bartolo.

  • Production of synthetic enamels began.

  • A new plant, the fourth on the company's account, was built in the Molasanna district in Genoa; the size of the factory was incredible at that time: 20 thousand square meters of total area and seven buildings for production, quality control, laboratory work, storage and delivery of goods.

  • The company began to produce products for the boat industry.

  • The company merged into a group of companies Holding-Boero Bartolomeo S.p.A, under the leadership of Federico Mario and with the assistance of his daughter Andreina, which immediately appeared on the Italian stock market.

  • Holding Boat S.p.A. - Boero Attiva Marine & Protective Coatings was established to strengthen leadership in the naval sector. It used the advanced technologies and experience of the global sales network of the Japanese International company Chugoku Marine Paints, part of the Mitsubishi Holding.

  • Andreina Boero became the new president of Boero.

  • Boero Colori France S.a.r.l was opened in France. This department sells products on the sailing navigation market.

  • Angelini Pharmaceutical Holding opened Rover Colori e Vernici S.r.l. This department specializes in the production of highly environmentally friendly paints for the construction industry.

  • The company acquired the prestigious Veneziani Yachting brand, which has more than 140 years of experience in boating.

  • Boero Group bought Attiva S.p.A., a company that is in the top five manufacturers of paints in Italy. The holding confidently occupies a leading position in construction, sailing and shipbuilding.

  • A new plant with an area of more than 120 000 square meters was opened in Rivalta Scrivia district in Genoa. This is one of the largest production plants for paints and varnishes in Europe. In November, the ultramodern Research Center "Riccardo Cavalleroni", consisting of laboratories with a team of highly skilled professionals and with the area of 1500 square meters, was opened.

  • Christina Kavalleroni Boero, who previously was on the board of directors, became the vice president of the company.

  • Chugoku and Boero strengthened their relationship by selling a controlling stake to company Japanese of Boat S.p.A. New prospects for holding activities started with this agreement.

  • The company began to work actively in foreign markets. Boero products are on sale in the United States, in the United Arab Emirates, in Cuba, Moldova, Bulgaria.

  • The first decor center was opened in Ukraine, active promotion of the brand began throughout Ukraine.

  • Boero Bartolomeo took part in the project of restoration of the facades of the central part of the city on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of Cuba's capital Havana. This is the largest project in the history of the company.

  • A new Boero show room was opened in Kyiv. The company has a representative office in Georgia, in Batumi.
